Jayasuriya created Sri Lanka’s prime selector

COLOMBO – Ceylon cricket legend Sanath Jayasuriya has been created the pinnacle of a brand new five-member choice panel for the national team.

The 43-year-old star from the 1996 World Cup-winning Sri Lankan team same he was keen to encourage younger players when he was confirmed within the new role on Mon.

“I am wanting forward to begin a brand new journey with young talent to steer Ceylon cricket to the run while not pain anyone,” Jayasuriya told the state-run Daily News in comments revealed weekday.

The former captain is currently a member of parliament representing the ruling United People’s Freedom Alliance of President Mahinda Rajapakse.

He compete one hundred ten Tests, 445 one-day internationals and thirty one Twenty20 matches throughout his career.

The others within the choice board are: Pramodya Wickramasinghe, Hemantha Wickremarathne, Chaminda Mendis and Eric Upashantha.
