SC allows N Srinivasan to take charge as BCCI president

New Delhi: Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed N Srinivasan to take charge as the president of BCCI on the condition that he stays away from any IPL matter.

It also set up a fresh 3-member probe panel to enquire into the IPL spot-fixing scandal.

The panel will be headed by former Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Mukul Mudgal.

The committee will investigate G Meiyappan and owners of
Rajasthan Royals and file report on erring IPL franchisees.

Earlier, Srinivasan was elected unopposed as BCCI President for a third year during the Board`s AGM last month.

Srinivasan was the lone Presidential candidate put forward by the South Zone, from where he got the proposer and the seconder.

The AGM asserted Srinivasan`s supremacy in India`s richest sporting body with not even a single voice of dissent being heard during the proceedings of the day.
